Media release: Tasmania Chiropractors Maintaining Sterling Safety Record

Media release time: Sun 16 Feb 2014, 10:00a.m.

Tasmanian chiropractors will be meeting in Campbell Town with renowned Australian chiropractic speaker Dr John Kelly on Sunday the 16th of February. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss best safety practice and to demonstrate the latest safety procedures pertinent to maintaining chiropractics' sterling safety record in Australia.

Chiropractic remains safe, effective, affordable and mainstream. The Chiropractors Association of Australia (TAS) is committed to maintaining the high level of patient safety the public has come to expect from their Tasmanian chiropractors.

Over 2million Australians suffer back pain. The World Health Organisation places it in the top three causes of premature death and years lived with disability but draws very little research funding.

The CAA has undertaken a commitment to a research lead culture, investing millions of dollars into researching the safety and effectiveness of chiropractic care.

Dr John Kelly has been a chiropractor in private practice for 36 years and has lectured continuously for 25 years in Australia and New Zealand. He was awarded Chiropractor of the Year in 2005 and has given expert testimony in over 280 medico-legal cases. He is currently an editor for the Chiropractic Journal of Australia.
